Research Update

Nanoparticle Research and Fertility Preservation Program Advance Thanks To Rainwater Grant

We are thrilled to announce that Rainwater Charitable Foundation has donated $185,000 to help move two very important projects forward, allowing us to engage in additional research and testing to better treat Ewing sarcoma, a type of tumor that forms in bone and/or soft tissue as well as further fund our groundbreaking Fertility Preservation Program.

Delivering Holiday Cheer
While most families are preparing for the holidays, many adolescents and young adult cancer patients are receiving cancer treatment. On November 21st, our Rutledge Foundation elves: Brenda Lammers, Nicole Burns and NCL moms, delivered oversized holiday stockings to patients at Cook Children’s Medical Center, Baylor Scott & White All Saints AYA Unit, John Peter Smith, Moncrief Cancer Institute, Mary Crowley Cancer Research Center, Simmon’s Cancer Care at UT Southwestern and Texas Children’s.

Henderson-Durham Ranch Hosts Board Retreat
The Rutledge Foundation Board, Staff and Advisors gathered at the Henderson-Durham Ranch in Jacksboro, Texas for its first ever Board Retreat. The retreat allowed the foundation to reflect and assess the past, present and future goals for the organization.

Thanks to our generous Sponsors, donors and hard-working committee, Hearts of Gold 2017, Accelerating the Path to Personalized Cancer Therapies, raised a record $125,000 for adolescents and young adults with cancer.

Waves of Hope

Portland, Oregon - On October 15th the Rutledge Foundation and the Day family celebrated the Fourth Annual Sam Day Soiree, Waves of Hope. Friends and family showed their outpouring of love and support in Sam’s memory helping raise more than $155,000 in the fight against Ewing sarcoma.
