IN MEMORY OF
Coke Marshall Smith
Our Coke Marshall Smith, 43, of Fort Worth, Texas departed this world for a bigger, beautiful, Heavenly celebration early in the morning on March 3, 2025, in a room filled with intense rejoice and sorrow. He is no longer in pain, he is forever reveling in warmth and love and amusement.
Coke Marshall was born under the hot Texas sun July 14,1981. He was a light, a laugh, and a little loud. Coke Marshall was a joyful brother, a high spirited son, and generous friend. He was a dancer, an actor, a lover of the world and all of its people. He was also a swimmer, a church acolyte, and an entertainer. He loved to pile his food high and add ketchup on top. He lived his life hard and loved his people harder.
Coke was a giver; when he had something, he gave. When he had next to nothing, he gave. He was one of a kind. Coke had spirit, he loved music and a good time. He lit up our rooms and our hearts. He maybe broke your heart too, like right now when you remember that he is gone. He also struggled as people do. He walked miles of roads that most of us will never know, loving and giving to those in his path.
His last gift in life to his friends and family was a Christ-like heart, completely filled with gratitude. A childlike kindness radiated from his body. In the midst of his pain, he showed us real lessons of grace, forgiveness, and how very easy it can be to show up and show love by giving and serving.
Our world is dimmer today, but we have hope in one day joining Coke’s Heavenly celebration.
